"Mating at the Office"
Cover story by Helaine and me in the San Francisco Chronicle Magazine about office mating in the Bay Area; reader comments follow the story. After the piece was published, a large company featured in the story changed its corporate policy, circulating a memo instructing its employees that whether they talk to the press about their professional or personal lives, they must receive prior approval from the PR department if they identify themselves as an employee of the company. Helaine and I continue to be surprised by the vigor with which corporations try to stifle their employees when it comes to discussing the very common phenomenon of finding a life partner at work.

"Boss's Memo: Go Ahead, Date (With My Blessing)"
Article in The New York Times about the growing acceptance of office romance by Stephanie Rosenbloom, in which Office Mate was featured and I was quoted. Rosenbloom called Office Mate "a kind of 'The Rules' for the office." Our publisher responded by moving the book's pub date up a week to November 6, 2007, and ordering a new cover with the Times quote for the second printing.
